As on all of our trips, experience local cuisine is one of the most important factors. Peruvian cuisine is now world wide popular. Peruvian cuisine reflects local practices and ingredients—including influences from the indigenous population including the Inca and cuisines brought in with immigrants from Europe, Asia and West Africa.

Peruvian cuisine is one of the most diverse of the world, with  a variety of dishes like: Adobo (pork marinated with chichi and spices), Ocopa, Rocoto Relleno, Chupe de Camarones (Shrimp soup with milk, egg), El Escribano (potato salad with Pepper), between many others. Also don’t forget to taste the popular “cheese ice cream” (elaborated with cream of milk) a very delicious sweet.

Nowhere in London there is better Peruvian cuisine than in my house, so all passengers are invited for a Peruvian dinner one week prior to our departure. You will just have a taste of the best and the rest will be … hmmmm – expressions, joy and tranquillity.

*Canchita* - An addictive snack, meaty maize kernels made into popcorn actually it looks more like a crunchy nut;

*Ceviche* - seafood dish typically made from fresh raw fish cured in citrus juices, such as lemon or lime, and spiced with ají, chilli peppers or other seasonings including chopped onions, salt, and coriander.

*Chicharrón de Pescado* - chunky fritters of white fish. You can have them with fish only, with calamari or other kinds of seafood, or even chicken.

*Lomo Saltado* - Very popular, traditional Peruvian dish, a stir-fry that typically combines marinated strips of sirloin with onions, tomatoes, french fries, and other ingredients.

*Alfajores* - delicate cookies made, surprisingly, with cornstarch filled with dulce de leche and rolled in shredded coconut.
